Board of Directors

Daniel J. Levangie, B.S.

Mr. Levangie, Chairman of the Board, is also the non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of eV3 Inc. (NASDAQ:EVVV). Beginning in 1992 Mr. Levangie was a member of the senior management team of Cytyc Corporation, a leading provider of surgical and diagnostic products targeting women's health and cancer diagnostics. Most recently he served as President of Cytyc's Surgical Products Division, Executive Vice President and a director of Cytyc Corporation. Following Cytyc Corporation's merger with Hologic, Inc. in October of 2007, Mr. Levangie has remained as a director of Hologic, Inc. Prior to Cytec, Mr. Levangie held a variety of sales and marketing positions at Abbott Laboratories. In addition to his other commitments, Mr. Levangie also serves as Director of Dune Medical Devices, Ltd., a privately-held medical device company engaged in the development and commercialization of devices for real-time tissue characterization. Mr. Levangie received a B.S. in Pharmacy from Northeastern University.

Mark Carbeau, M.B.A.

Mr. Carbeau, President and Chief Executive Officer, brings to HyperMed 25 years experience in building healthcare and medical technology companies. Most recently Mark was US President of Kinetics Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI) where he led the Advanced Wound Care business. In other operating roles, he was Vice President Corporate Development of OraPharma, Inc. during its IPO in March of 2000 and prior to its sale to Johnson and Johnson in 2002, and held roles with Eli Lilly and Company in sales, marketing and engineering. Mark has been an engagement manager with The Boston Consulting Group, and a founding partner of a boutique consulting firm providing transaction support and interim management to private equity clients. He holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Rick Lifsitz, M.B.A.

Mr. Lifsitz, Chief Operating Officer, is a serial entrepreneur, having been a co-founder of e-Travel (sold to Oracle), DataPower Technology (sold to IBM) and a senior executive at AMICAS (sold via reverse public merger - NASDAQ: AMCS). He brings over two decades of senior operating, sales/business development, software development and company building experience to HYPERMED. Rick has been a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a partner at a management turnaround firm and has marketing and business development experience at Procter and Gamble and Digital Equipment Corporation. Rick graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan & holds a MBA degree from The Harvard Business School.

Alexander Denner, Ph.D.

Dr. Denner serves as a Managing Director of entities affiliated with Carl Icahn, including Icahn Partners LP and Icahn Partners Master Fund LP. Icahn Partners LP and Icahn Partners Master Fund LP are private investment funds. From April 2005 to May 2006, Dr. Denner served as a portfolio manager specializing in healthcare investments for Viking Global Investors and, previously, served as a health care portfolio manager with Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Dr. Denner currently serves as a director of Imclone Systems, Inc. Dr. Denner received his S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and, an M.S., M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Yale University.

Michael Goldblatt, Ph.D., J.D.

Dr. Goldblatt is currently the CEO of Functional Genetics in Washington, DC. From 1999 to 2003, he served as Director of Defense Sciences at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he laid the foundation to make biological research an integral part of the Department of Defense. This includes programs to defend against biological threats and leverage biology to enhance both defense systems and human performance. Prior to his work with the Department of Defense, Dr. Goldblatt spent 12 years with McDonald's Corporation as the Science and Technology Officer where he had broad responsibilities in the areas of nutrition, product development, food safety, and corporate venture capital. In his capacity with General Foods, he led research efforts in the use of nutrients for pharmaceutical effects and oversaw a variety of regulatory and legal issues. Dr. Goldblatt received his B.A. from Reed College and his Ph.D. and J.D. from the University of California, Davis.

Dr. Douglas Lind, M.D.

Dr. Lind has over 20 years of experience in a variety of life science related professions, ranging from physician to head of biotech equity research at Morgan Stanley to head of a life sciences hedge fund. Most recently, he was Managing Partner of Accendx Management, LLC, a Greenwich, CT based hedge fund he co-founded. Prior, he was senior biotechnology equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley from 1997 through 2002 and at PaineWebber from 1995 to 1997. Previously, he was Managing Director of Lind & Co., a Boston-based biotechnology investment research firm serving institutional clients, which he founded in 1991. He is a former Tufts University Clinical Fellow in Medicine and a past member of the American Medical Association Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs. During his tenure on the Council, he worked extensively on problems of resource allocation in health care. He has served on numerous national health policy bodies, including the Health Policy Agenda for the American People and the American Medical Association Task Force on Physician Manpower.

Dr. Lind is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, 1987. From 1990 to 1992, he was a practicing physician in Brookline, Massachusetts. He served as an attending physician at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, a major teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine.
