HyperMed, Inc. Receives Additional $4 Million from GBP Capital

Burlington, MA – May 19, 2008 – HyperMed, Inc., the leader in hyperspectral medical imaging, today announces it completed $4 million financing from GBP Capital (GBP) this month. Proceeds will support ongoing marketing and sales of OxyVu™, its lead product.

Mark Carbeau, President and CEO commented: "We are particularly pleased with GBP's enthusiasm in our technology as evidenced by their expanded investment and ongoing support. OxyVu is proving to be a real advance in wound care diagnostics that helps surgeons improve patient outcomes and save limbs. This additional capital will help us broaden our platform to include additional applications."

OxyVu™ is only FDA-approved medical hyperspectral system to non-invasively and quantitatively assess tissue oxygenation in patients with diabetes and peripheral arterial disease. By supplying clinicians with a tool to analyze tissue metabolism, OxyVu™ may lead to earlier interventions and faster case resolutions.

"GBP's increasing financial commitment is based on HyperMed's continued progress in developing applications for the OxyVu platform," said Doug Lind, HyperMed director and Managing Partner for GBP. "Given the high interest level from clinicians in the diabetic and peripheral vascular markets, we believe the Company's growth prospects are significant."

About Hyperspectral Technology and HyperMed

Hyperspectral Technology (HT) is a novel medical imaging modality that combines advanced optics with sophisticated mathematical algorithms to identify subtle changes in composition from reflected light. The technology was initially developed by the Department of Defense for use in aerial espionage and satellite surveillance.

HyperMed has pioneered the use of HT for medical applications. The Company's OxyVu™ system measures oxy-hemoglobin and deoxy-hemoglobin to enable clinicians to assess tissue metabolism. The company's initial focus is on complications of diabetes and peripheral arterial disease. Through a simple thirty-second non-invasive scan, a physician gains valuable insights that aid in planning of advanced treatment interventions and surgery.
